New two day Food Festival announced

New two day Food Festival announced

A new two-day food festival is set to arrive in Coventry later this year as the summer comes to a close.

The War Memorial Food Festival will take place in War Memorial Park on the weekend of Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22.

More than 100 traders are expected to be showcased at the event, with street food, producers and a wide range of food and drink stalls for visitors to enjoy.

It is being organised by CJ'S Events Warwickshire - the company behind the Warwick, Kenilworth and Nuneaton food festivals.

Applications have now opened for local food and drink traders to feature at the two-day extravaganza.

The festival will be free to attend as foodies get the chance to sample some of the best produce from across the region.

Local radio station Fresh Coventry and Warwickshire will be providing entertainment during the weekend from their stage – with local singers and bands set to perform.

There will also be a collection of fairground rides for kids to enjoy, with other activities including glitter painting and chocolate workshops.

It will be the first festival CJ's Events Warwickshire have held in Coventry – following success across Warwickshire, including the weekly retail and farmers markets across Warwick District.

Jamie John Walker, Company Director at CJ's Events Warwickshire, said: "We're very excited to be bringing this new festival to Coventry.

"We are looking to attract food and drink traders from all across Coventry and Warwickshire, and the extended region, to be involved during the two days.

"Our food festivals in the Warwick District have been a huge success and continue to grow year-on-year, we are hoping to replicate that success in September at War Memorial Park.

"We're sure the two-day bumper festival will be a fantastic way to round off the summer food festival season."
