New government lockdown guidance for markets

Following the Prime Ministers announcement yesterday, Monday 25th May, it has been confirmed non essential markets can return from 1st June 2020. This is fantastic news for all involved, the past 3 months have been tough for many and this is a light at the end of the tunnel which we've all been waiting for. 

Whilst our Warwick & Kenilworth markets are open for essential food stalls only, this new guidance will allow all traders to return from clothing, watch repairs, jewellery and home-wear. Other markets which have permission from Central Government to return are Lichfield Producers, Barton Marina Artisan Market, Covent Garden Market & Leamington Producers Markets, as long as they all adhere to Social Distancing and are COVID-19 Secure. 

Safety is really important and we will not host any market unless we're happy social distancing can be maintained. 

The following updates can be provided on the mentioned markets;

• Warwick & Kenilworth weekly markets - Currently OPEN. Plans are in place at present to accommodate essential food traders, we are liaising with the authority to see how we can move to Step 3 of our phased return plan to allow non essential food traders to attend. No date confirmed for non essential traders to return, at present.
• Covent Garden Market - We are in discussions with Warwick District Council to see if and when we can return these safely. As road closures are involved, this may take additional time. No return date confirmed, at present. 
• Leamington Producers Market - We are in discussions with Warwick District Council to see if and when we can return these safely, as road closures are involved, this may take additional time. No return date confirmed, at present.  
• Lichfield Producers market - We are in talks with Lichfield City Council and whilst a date is still yet to be confirmed, it is very likely that we will return on Sunday 5th July.. No return date confirmed, at present. 
• Barton Marina Artisan market - We have made contact with Barton Marina to begin discussions on brining back the monthly market. No return date confirmed, at present.
